A one of a kind sports memorabilia item is up for auction in Missouri tomorrow. No not a rare baseball card or game used item. How about a hand made quilt, autographed by 340 players. Not just any players either, Sandy Koufax, Jackie Robinson, Yogi Berra, and Ted Williams to name a few.
Clara Rothmeier, who passed away last June, would stitch her favorite baseball players face on a piece of cloth, and then send the squares through the mail to get autographed by the player. Her success over the years is remarkable. The Baseball Hall of Fame even displayed the quilt in it's museum for over a year. The unique piece of sports history is expected to sell for over $25,000.
