2012 Topps Football Blaster Box Break

I recently opened a retail blaster box of 2012 Topps Football cards. The box is your typical blaster and cost $20 at Target. It comes with 10 packs and eight cards per pack with one Captains NFL patch per box (which comes in a special pack). Each 8 card pack comes with a brand-new 2012 NFL rookie card including players like: Andrew Luck, Robert Griffin III, and Trent Richardson.
Overall I was impressed with the quality of the cards but if you are looking to get your money back by opening a retail blaster box of 2012 Topps Football I would strongly advise against it. For one, it is very difficult to pull an autographed card or jersey card from this type of box. While the Captains patches (1 per box) may be very nice, and some of them may sell very well at auction on eBay, by and large that patch alone is only worth a few dollars. Blaster boxes such as this one are meant to be fun with the outside possibility of getting a big pull.

Some of the cards that I really liked from the box were the 1965 Topps Tall Boys insert cards and I pulled a Ryan Grant and Cam Newton. Overall these are very nice cards. I can see people wanting to chase the entire set and not to mention the autographed versions that are going to sell very well on the secondary market.

Be sure to take a look at the 2012 Topps Football Checklist and see if their are any cards that you are interested in. The hobby boxes of this product provide much more value and the potential to get a bigger hit. Many of the cards from this box are being given away free on the Sports Card Radio Forum check out the link here for more details on that.
